Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Clobul (“Clobul”, “we”, “us”) operates the Clobul website at clobul.online and the Clobul mobile app, a marketplace that connects customers in Pakistan with skilled workers such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and painters. This policy explains what personal information we collect from customers and workers, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

2. Information we collect
From everyone who creates an account
- Name and phone number — used as your login credentials and shown on your profile.
- Password — stored only as a one-way hash; we never see or store your plain password.
- City and area — selected from a fixed list of Pakistani cities and neighbourhoods (e.g. Lahore → DHA Phase 5) during signup. We use this to show local results in the directory. We do not collect or store device GPS coordinates from customers or workers, and the app does not request location permission.
From workers (in addition to the above)
- Trade category, years of experience, and skills — shown on your public profile so customers can find you.
- Profile photo — shown publicly on your profile and in worker listings.
- CNIC (national identity card) front and back — uploaded during signup for identity verification only. CNIC images are private, are never shown to customers, and are visible only to Clobul reviewers responsible for approving your account.
- Optional work samples — photos you choose to add to your portfolio. These are shown publicly on your profile.
Generated as you use the service
- Reviews and ratings you write or receive, including your first name as the reviewer.
- Account activity such as logins, registration date, and profile updates — kept for security and fraud-prevention.
- Device and connection information such as IP address, app version, and operating system, collected from standard server logs.
3. How we use your information
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To match customers with workers by city and area, and rank workers by rating and experience.
- To verify worker identity (CNIC review) before a worker becomes visible to customers.
- To moderate reviews and prevent abuse of the platform.
- To respond to your support requests and contact you about problems with your account.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your data.
4. What is shown publicly
A worker's name, city, area, trade, skills, years of experience, profile photo, optional work samples, average rating, and reviews received are publicly visible on the Clobul directory, including to people who are not signed in. A worker's phone number is shown only on their detail page, to the customers who choose to contact them.
A customer's name and city are not shown publicly. When a customer leaves a review, their first name is displayed alongside the review.
CNIC images and other verification documents are never shown publicly and are accessible only to Clobul reviewers.
5. How we share your information
We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed for the purposes described above:
- Cloud infrastructure providers — Google Cloud Platform hosts our servers and stores uploaded files. Google Cloud Storage holds CNIC and photo uploads in private buckets; access is granted to the Clobul application only.
- Other Clobul users — as described in “What is shown publicly” above.
- Authorities — when we are required by Pakistani law to do so (for example, in response to a valid court order), or to protect the safety of our users.
We do not transfer your data to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
6. How long we keep your information
- Account information — kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your profile within 30 days, except where we need to retain certain records to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
- CNIC images — kept while your worker account is active so we can re-verify if needed. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Reviews and ratings — kept indefinitely as part of the public record of the platform, but disassociated from deleted accounts.
- Server logs — kept for up to 90 days for security and debugging.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information — most fields can be edited directly in your profile; for anything else email us.
- Delete your account and the personal information associated with it. You can do this from the mobile app (Account → Delete account) or from the web at clobul.online/delete-account.
- Change the city or area on your profile at any time from the mobile app (worker Profile screen) or in your web account settings.
To exercise these rights, email talha110tariq@gmail.com from the phone number registered to your account, or from an email address you can verifiably link to it. We respond within 14 days.
8. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls on identity documents, and signed time-limited URLs for image delivery. No system is perfectly secure — please use a unique, strong password and tell us at talha110tariq@gmail.com if you suspect your account has been compromised.
9. Children
Clobul is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. International transfers
Our cloud provider stores data in the asia-south1 region. By using Clobul you consent to your information being stored and processed in that region.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of Clobul after the change means you accept the updated policy.
